a Sneak Peek of the New SQUIDS Game Today via Free iPhone / iPad Update PARIS – May 23, 2012 – The Game Bakers, creators of the fan-favorite mobile RPG SQUIDS, are announcing that the next chapter of their undersea saga, SQUIDS Wild West, will release for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch this summer. Even better: eager players can get an early look by downloading SQUIDS’ latest free update from the App Store, which includes three bonus levels set on a SQUIDS Wild West map. SQUIDS follows a band of unlikely heroes who must protect their idyllic underwater kingdom from the destructive black ooze settling over the seas. Set in the western kingdom of Seawood, SQUIDS Wild West takes the group into deeper, more dangerous waters as they regroup against oily crustacean enemies and search for a fallen comrade. They’ll help the feisty Calamary Jane save a besieged frontier town, explore native Squid lands and a volatile mine, and start to understand the evil they’re up against—but not without paying a terrible personal price. SQUIDS Wild West will be a Universal App with more of the gorgeous cartoon art, jaunty music, and humorous storytelling that made SQUIDS a fan favorite. Like the original, SQUIDS Wild West combines tactical RPG-inspired gameplay with the convenient interface of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Although turn-based battles are easily fought using an Angry Birds-style “flinging” mechanic, SQUIDS Wild Westprovides a much deeper challenge than the average mobile game. Strategy and skill is required as players use environmental elements, the Squids’ strengths, and enemies’ weaknesses to succeed. With devious new enemies, four new playable characters, and nearly twice as many levels as the original SQUIDS, the upcoming sequel also has many fun gameplay surprises—including seahorses that you can corral and ride into battle! In today’s free update, SQUIDS players can dive into the Wild West with three missions that take place in Seawood. This exclusive sneak peek introduces a new Squid hero: Cleef, a vengeful gunslinger with secrets to hide. And a formidable enemy, the massive Buffalo Shrimp, will rear its ugly thorax. The update also features a new Game Center achievement, a new level cap, and enhanced social media functionality. Those who own the original SQUIDS on iOS can download today’s free update from the App Store, while new players can buy the game (with the SQUIDS Wild West demo included) for just $1.99: The original SQUIDS has been downloaded over a million times and has ranked as the App Store’s #1 RPG in 65 countries. Since its October 2011 release, it has maintained a perfect 5-star fan rating on the App Store. It is also available for Android, PC, and Mac. What! awwwwwwwwwwww no squids 2 for android this summer? just Apple products for now? dang me and my friends (I know sounds stupid, grown adults sad over a phone game, but hey I turned them onto the game now we are addicted lol) have been gearing up for squids 2 release. any Idea when squids 2 android is coming out and also another question after squids 2 is there going to be a possible 3rd and if so how long are you planning for the series squids 5000!!!! lol id still buy it lol

  2. caleçonman dit :

    Super !

  3. ian dit :

If I have anything to say about it then we will have a squids 5 I will personally fund it if I have to lol. Some say I’m obsessed but is say I’m just passionate and I so happy to see this game company prevail.

    • Emeric dit :

Yeah thanks a lot. We might take it seriously though, the funding offer ;-).
I too would love to have Squids 5! There are other Kingdoms to discover. Until then, see you in June for Wild West!

  4. ian dit :

Hmmmmmm will 10000$ do? Lol probably can’t even make a squid with that kind of funding lol

  5. Dave dit :

so are the skills on the new squids different or the same as the current classes? either way you should do the intro thing like you did for each of the current squids (except jammer)…. Im on android also and im a bit sad we will be the second thought to the iOS :( also how much if at all with squids 2 cost?

    • Emeric dit :

Sorry for the delay for Android… we need to be successful on iOS first, then we’ll make it for Android :D! The character classes will be the same, but each squid is balanced in a very unique way, so that makes them different from each other! And there are many new other stuff in the game.

      • lollydrop92 dit :

So in other words your iOS market is your main focus when all of us android players have to wait and see if we get it depending on the ios market :/ sigh this always happens, then either they don’t make an Android version or the Android version is a whole lot worse.why can’t Android get some love. :(

        • Mr.Peanut dit :

I totally agree with lolly. I mean and I even have an iPad but the android system is so much better but developers just care about ios, why should Android have to depend on how well ios does. I’m sure the game bakers will make a good game on both but I’m still a little pissed about the number developers thinking ios is the only profitable market. Is like to see Android First.

          • Emeric dit :

I am really sorry to disappoint you! The thing is that we are not « thinking » that iOS is only profitable. With the revenues of Squids on Android you can get a very nice box of chocolates. With the revenues on iOS you get Squids Wild West, that’s as simple as that. But I want as much people as possible to play Squids, so as soon as we can, we’ll bring it on Android ;-)

  6. I have downloaded this Game from the appstore. This game is really awesome, SQUIDS Wild West Rocks
